Hazel Payne's - Taste of Honey -
delivers the pulsating beat of the
“Disco Era” featuring
the “leading ladies of the boogie”!
 |
In the days of Disco, the female-led guitar-driven band A
Taste Of Honey received a crash course in the potential of the “hit
single” when their very first recording, Boogie Oogie Oogie, hit the top
of the charts around the world. Both Single and Album were certified Platinum in
the USA and Gold in the United Kingdom and Japan. As a result, Hazel Payne and A
Taste Of Honey went on to nab the prestigious Grammy Award for Best New
Artist of the Year. |

The second ATOH album went Gold in Japan and also garnered Gold
for the Single with “Do It Good” (a song that also won Gold for a third time
when it was awarded the Gold Prize Award at the 8th Annual Tokyo Music
Festival).
The band’s third album, produced by George Duke, gave us
“Sukiyaki”
(a remake of Kyu Sakamoto’s 1963 international hit) also went to #1
on the national charts adding yet another Gold Single to the achievements of
ATOH. |
